Introduction to Horary Astrology
To get understanding of horary astrology we start with brief description of the components on which it is based.
What is Astrology?
Astrology does not need introduction. The word astrology came from Greek ‘astrologia’. Literal translation of ‘astrologia’ is ‘study of stars’; here meaning of ‘stars’ should be preferably taken as sun, moon, classical and modern planets and other luminous celestial bodies like known fixed stars etc. Astrology has different branches or shell we say has several schools of thought, which have their individual techniques of casting of horoscope, have their own methods and ideologies of reading the horoscope etc. One of them and probably the oldest form of astrology is horary astrology.
What is Horoscope?
In an unpretentious words horoscope means a chart prepared of position, pattern and interrelationship of planets, other celestial bodies and mathematical points as seen from a particular place on the earth at a particular time.
To describe it in language of this era of tools such as iPhone, computers, Tablets etc. horoscope can be redefined as a “two dimensional image taken from the particular part of the earth at a particular time, of the planets, sun, moon, fixed stars and other luminous bodies around the earth with their positions measured in unit of degree of 12 constellations of the zodiac, with exemplified precise and graphical interrelationship to each other and other relevant data imprinted on it and reproduced in a format with the help of which a skilled astrologer can judge, read and delineate facts, character and/or even future of an individual, country and an outcome of an event etc.” Great!! This may sound a big clutter of words, but I wanted to put it in such a way that even a geek can understand, what does the horoscope means.
Horoscope is the most important tool or it may be the only instrument in almost all systems of astrology. We will further describe how it is used in horary astrology.
What is horary astrology?
Horary astrology, as far as I know is the probably the oldest form of astrology, which was used by majority of astrologers in the past to achieve forthright astrological perception in an individual’s disquiets, when one comes for an astrological reading. Horary astrology is the only system of astrology that offers straight and conclusive answers to queries at an instant they are queried. It is the one of the most useful systems of astrology in the events like crisis, calamity, uncertainty etc., if used efficiently and judiciously.
The structure of horary astrology is based on some well-founded, strong and straightforward rules, in comparison to natal and other forms of astrology. In spite of such clear-cut rules horary astrology still needs a special skill to practice it, because these simple looking rules also have their paradoxes and may have many contradictory outcome of chart interpretations; in situations like this the ability of horary practitioner comes out of the obscurities. Although horary astrology offers answers usually in very specific manner, but if a single rule is ignored the entire outcome of the interpretation or a judgment may become irrational.
It has been proved in unending number of times that horary astrology has positively provided guidance and solutions in multiple issues such as, relationship, career, family disputes, financial investments, litigations, crimes and in missing articles or even person.
In horary astrology a chart is erected, of the time when a question has raised and took a concrete form in an individual’s mind, of the planetary positions as seen from a particular place on the earth; this horoscope becomes a tool from which an answer is derived, for that question.
This might not sound very convincing to an analytical individual. But I would try to fulfil that curiosity by some elucidation which may satisfy a critical mind.
It has been noted in history that each and every questions asked cannot be answered by delineation of the horary chart, because the question may appear sincere at a first instance but may not be so, it may not have genuine intentions. Because the entire functioning of all the branches of astrology including horary astrology be expounded spiritually and not logically. The one who wants to argue logically can have ceaseless arguments against the explanation. An astrologer tries to get insight of the situation by looking at the allegories, “As above so below, as within so without” a phrase from ‘The Emerald Tablet’, circa 3000 BC can throw some light in understanding the concept. The ‘time’ taken in consideration to construct the chart, be it a birth of a question in horary astrology or a child in natal astrology has a specific significance, that particular moment is a measure of a regulated reproduction that divulges its implication to perception at an exact moment of celestial comprehension. We being a part of an expressive universe, which has significance of purpose, makes us to accept the presence of providence which in turn leads us in the direction of knowing the bigger picture; with the hints of implication revealed in our existence. The changes occurring in an individual’s consciousness has a higher reproduction in the universe or vice versa. This fairly explains the working of astrology.
